Overview
The mobile version of Crash Nitro Kart was developed by I-play and released on September 20, 2004. It is a simple racing game and the character roster offers four racers to choose from: Crash Bandicoot, Coco Bandicoot, Dr. Neo Cortex and Crunch Bandicoot, each of them with their unique stats. The anti-gravity gimmick is not present in any form in this version.
There are 2 game modes to choose from: Single Race and Tournament. Single Race is self-explanatory, and Tournament lets you drive through all 4 tracks of an environment in succession, accumulating points based on your position. Get more points than everyone else and you'll win the tourney, unlocking a new environment in the process.
There are 3 environments to choose from: City (based on Android Alley), Beach (based on Inferno Island), and Castle (based on Clockwork Wumpa).
Each track is very simple with small allusions to the console version: there are turbo pads, holes to avoid, and 4 different kinds of power-ups.
A sequel to this game called Crash Bandicoot Nitro Kart was released in 2008.
